National E-Health Strategy

In early 2008, Australian Health Ministers, through the Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, commissioned Deloitte to develop a strategic framework and plan to guide national coordination and collaboration in E-Health. As part of this process, Deloitte conducted a series of national consultations which included Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, general practitioners, medical specialists, nursing and allied health, pathology, radiology and pharmacy sectors, health information specialists, health service managers, researchers, academics and consumers. 20,000th registration to the eHealthNT Shared Electronic Health Record

Partnership between Aboriginal Health Services and the Department of Health and Community Services. The roll-out of the Shared Electronic Health Record - a major eHealthNT initiative that is linking up the health system - will deliver the 20,000th consumer registration in Alice Springs at an event at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress.

Territory showcases eHealth success story

RDH leads nation in new hospital medical technology
30 October 2007

Royal Darwin Hospital is the first hospital in the country to use an on-line medication system that will see doctors and nurses using laptops at bedsides to improve patient care.

The new system was successfully trialled in the Special Care Nursery and Paediatric Wards and with a tick of approval from doctors and nurses is now being rolled out across the hospital.
