How will a Shared Electronic Health Record help me?
If you access multiple health services or use different GPs, being registered on the Shared Electronic Health Record eliminates the need for paper records to be mailed or faxed and for multiple telephone calls between health providers.
Your medical information is stored in a safe repository and can be accessed quickly by health professionals all around the Territory.
What information is stored in my Shared Electronic Health Record?
- Full name.
- Date of Birth.
- Address.
- Contact details
- Next of kin
- Your updated medical profile.
- A summary of your visits to health centres, GPs or NT public hospitals.
- NT public hospital discharge summary.
- Pathology test results.
How will my private information be managed?
The Shared Electronic Health Record complies with the highest national standards for privacy and security so your personal information is protected.
Only authorised health care professionals will have access to your health information. Administrative staff can only see and update your contact details.
How do I register with the Shared Electronic Health Record?
Registering with the Shared Electronic Health Record is voluntary and free.
Forms are available from a Shared Electronic Health Record Project Officer, the eHealthNT office or a participating health care provider. Once your details are confirmed with they are entered into your Shared Electronic Health Record. You are able to withdraw at any time by contacting a participating health care provider or the eHealth NT office.
